Learn how to foster a community and give your readers a reason to comment on your blog. In this article I’m going to showcase the Subscribe To Comments Plugin by Mark Jacquith, that I think is one of the most important plugins you should have running on your blog.
This plugin should always be one of the first plugins you install when you setup your blog.

There are several reasons for installing the subscribe to comments plugin to your blog. However the main reason is to help build a community around your blog. With this plugin installed your readers will be able to leave a comment, and get an email letting them know when someone responds. This does several things:
1) You get them back on your blog again. (Pretty cool Huh?)
2) You build a community and start engaging your readers. They learn that you care, and they know that if someone answers, they’ll be notified. Why post a comment on a blog if you won’t know when someone responds? Expect them to just keep checking every day? Haha, Sorry. No. Not gonna happen.
3) The final reason is, installing this plugin takes seconds… maybe 5 total. So I encourage you, take 5 seconds out of your day, follow this article, and get your readers engaged and commenting on your blog. This is the stuff of legend. Don’t be without it.
How To Install The Plugin
Visit Your Dashboard, Under Plugins click add new, from here type in Subscribe To Comments and click enter. You will see an output similar to the following:
You want the plugin by Mark Jacquith aptly named “Subscribe to comments”. Click Install, then activate and your finished. If you find this process confusing, I have a video and article that covers the installation process in detail called How To Install WordPress Plugins

Conclusion
In this article / video I went over how to install the Subscribe To Comments plugin. I talked about why this plugin is so important (giving your readers a reason to comment, and allowing them to be notified whenever you or someone else posts a reply to their comment).
I hope that one day this plugin will be integrated by default for the wordpress.org installation, but until then you should really consider installing this plugin and using it right away.
